Welcome to Think Clearly Sport

The ability to deal with setbacks effectively, to discover or realise potential, and to develop and maintain an optimal level of wellbeing are all common themes present within sporting and performance domains.

The ability to deal with setbacks effectively, to discover or realise potential, and to develop and maintain an optimal level of wellbeing are all common themes present within sporting and performance domains. To achieve such feats, many athletes, coaches, support staff, parents and officials opt to work on the psychological side of their performance. As such, the role of the psychological skills or abilities is widely accepted as an influential factor in the pursuit of sporting performance and performance excellence.

My name is James Lambdon, an HCPC Registered Sport Psychologist, Chartered with the British Psychological Society and I am fascinated sport and all of the facets of performance. I have setup Think Clearly Sport to help individuals, groups, and teams pursue their goals, improve their performance. and to enjoy the process along the way.

Whether you are looking for advice or support, on an individual level, environmental level, or organisational level, Think Clearly Sport is here to provide bespoke psychological support to help you in your chosen pursuit.

Think Clearly

There is no one way to think. There is no right way to think. This means that each and every person has their own, unique experience, of sport and performance. Just like the physical aspects of performance, the psychological side is to a skill and something that can be developed with purposeful practice over time. Our aim here is to work with our clients to develop their ability to Think Clearly. That is, to use psychological skills that help them to perform, more often, or more consistently.

Helping Clients Think Clearly

Through James, Think Clearly Sport has experience of working with 100s of clients ranging from grassroots to Olympic and Professional athletes, across 30+ different sports and performance pursuits. The Think Clearly Sport approach combines our working knowledge of the psychology of sport and performance, to our client’s knowledge of their sport or performance domain. The quality of our work hinges on a shared understanding and approach to creating effective psychological solutions. We know that an individual’s experience in sporting situations is so important, so all of our support is personalised to the needs of the clients that we work with.
